As of January 1, 2015, all social work continuing education courses offered to New York Social Workers must be pre-approved.

This requires providers to pay a $900 fee and submit each course (Ce4Less has over 200) to be approved. Ce4Less is not willing to submit to these guidelines. Even then, Social Workers can only earn 1/3 of the required hours via online/homestudy courses.

It seems clear that the board does not want Social Workers to earn continuing education via homestudy, which our customers find to be a convenient, cost effective method.

If you disagree with the board's decision to force you to take time off of work and pay to attend seminars, we suggest that you write or call the board and let them know.
